Switching BEC's allow for very efficient conversion from one voltage level to another. This BEC has an input voltage range of 6 volts to 9 volts DC, so it is suitable for 2-cell Li-Po batteries or 6-cell to 7-cell Ni-xx batteries. The output is switchable to provide either 5.0 or 6.0 volts, and can provide up to 8 amps continous current with a 10 amp burst rating to power your receiver and servos.

This BEC circuit includes a shielded metal can that surrounds all of the electronic components to minimize any generated signal noise. This is a big plus if you are having problems with glitches or other noise related problems with your radio installation. The output lead of the BEC also wrapped through a torroid choke to further reduce any switching noise that might be generated by the BEC. Because of the high power output of this BEC circuit, the output lead comes with two connectors attached, so you can plug the output into two seperate places on your receiver, or run one output to the receiver and another output to a gyro system. The output level of the BEC can be set to either 5.0 volts or 6.0 volts by changing the position of the small switch located near the output leads. This BEC circuit also features an on-off switch, so you can disable output of the BEC circuit if needed, and a female JST connector to plug into your battery. The circuit board on the BEC measures 40 x 42 mm (1.57 x 1.65 inches), and is 13mm thick (0.51 inches) and weighs only 40 grams (1.41 ounces) including the switch, and all of the wires and connectors.

Also included with the BEC is a 0.7 volt step-down extension that allows you to drop the output down to one of your servos. This comes in really handy if you have a helicopter, and want to run 6.0 volts to your receiver and cyclic servos, but want to step the output to your Gyro and tail rotor servo down to 5.3 volts.
