Switching BEC's allow for higher battery voltages than can normally be used with on-board voltage regulators. This BEC has an input voltage range of 6 volts to 23 volts DC, so it is suitable for 2-cell to 5-cell Li-Po batteries, 2-cell to 6-cell A123 batteries, or 5-cell to 16-cell Ni-Cad or Ni-MH batteries. The output is switchable to provide either 5.0 volts or 6.0 volts, and can provide up to 3 amps continous current to power your receiver and servos. This BEC circuit includes a shielded metal can that surrounds all of the electronic components to minimize any generated signal noise. This is a big plus if you are having problems with glitches or other noise related problems with your radio installation. The output lead of the BEC also wrapped through a torroid choke to further reduce any switching noise that might be generated by the BEC.

The output level of the BEC can be set to either 5.0 volts or 6.0 volts by changing the position of the blue selection jumper shown in the photo below. The circuit board on the BEC measures 16 x 35 mm (0.63 x 1.38 Inches), and weighs only 11 grams (0.39 ounces) including all of the wires and connectors.
