I currently fly at my RC Club field approximately 2 days per week. Saturday mornings are dedicated to helicopter flying. This is where I meet with other heli pilot members to fly, discuss new technologies, resolution to issues, tuning, etc. Collaborating with other pilots is the side of the hobby that I thoroughly enjoy. During this time, I provide assistance to new heli members and also non-members that require help. This includes, but not limited to: nitro tuning, repairs, flybarless control systems, esc/motor programming and various overall configuration changes etc.
Four years experience with electric and nitro ranging from Trex 250, 450, 500, 600e, 600n, 700e, 700n, and Logo 600.

I have been interested in R/C for many years. I worked in a hobby store approximately 24 years ago. While there, I built and owned many R/C planes, cars and boats. Since the hobby store, I built a career in finance, attended college, got married and had a beautiful daughter. In 2006, I stopped in a hobby store to buy my friend a holiday gift and the rest is history! I was back into R/C!
I have taken numerous training classes from various pro pilots and enjoy teaching/helping other pilots with their helicopters. I have also done a considerable amount of travelling around the United States to attend various fun flys and have participated in numerous competitions including the XFC, Taiwan Cup and Align Las Vegas Competition.I enjoy the challenge of the hobby and the friendships that I am building along the way.

My first exposure to the hobby was in the 1980′s where I use to fly nitro planes and electric RC cars with my father. Fast forward to the end of 2008, I rediscovered the hobby and picked up RC helicopters. Ever since I’ve been heavily entrenched in the local Northern California RC heli scene. Having an engineering background I bring a unique perspective and approach to problem solving. I tend to be very technical and have a wide understanding of different model designs, flybarless systems, and power systems. I love to help others in the area and have earned a reputation for being a great problem solver and a source of good advice for both models and flying. I’ve also enjoyed participating in many beta programs across several companies and try to provide feature ideas along with finding as many bugs as possible. Being a developer myself, I find beta testing a very enjoyable aspect of the hobby.

Bobby has been involved with RC helicopters since late 2003 and absolutely loves the hobby. He is currently sponsored by companies including HeliWholesaler, Miniature Aircraft USA, Futaba, OS Engines, Morgan Fuels, Scorpion, Thunder Power Batteries and Sw!tch Glo. He has just recently graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of South Carolina. When not involved in school or helicopters, he is a huge fan of guitar and music, water sports, and just about anything with a motor. While representing Miniature Aircraft he has attended many events in the US and has been to various countries from New Zealand to Honduras as well as many others in between.
